Francesco Ferdinando Alfieri

Two-handed sword treatise by Francesco Ferdinando Alfieri, printed at Padua in 1653. Thimm preserves a fragmentary frontispiece-style witness identifying Alfieri as maestro d'arme of the Accademia Delia in Padua. Vigeant 1882 strengthens the record by calling it a specialist work devoted exclusively to the two-handed sword, noting seventeen engraved plates with some repetition, and judging it the only fully special treatise of its kind known to him in the seventeenth century.
