The Padua 1683 printing is the second edition/reprint of the 1653 Alfieri work and remains as a distinct edition under the canonical work. Former title: Arte di ben maneggiar la spada. Former author statement: Francesco Ferdinando Alfieri. Former description: ALFIERI (FRANCESCO FERDINANDO). Arte di ben maneggiare la Spada ... &c. 2nd edition. Obl. 4°. 1683. Padova. Former historical notes: Padua 1683 Alfieri witness cited by Gelli in appendix form. The local anchor already represented the correct later edition but needed title cleanup against compressed import wording.
