French fencing manual by B. de Bast, former professor of all weapons and gymnasiarch at the Société Royale et Chevalière de Saint-Michel at Gand. Gelli’s short title clearly points to the same 1836 work family already anchored locally.
Gelli cites a later 1838 witness in the Bast manual family.
Vigeant 1882 identifies the work as partly imitative of Lafaugère and says the plates reproduce positions from the French master's treatise.
