Foundational fencing treatise by Domenico Angelo, also cited as Angelo Malevolti. The local record now groups the original London edition of 1763 together with the related 1765 bilingual reissue, the later London edition of 1767, and a much reduced English issue of 1787 noted by Gelli as a secondary witness. Castle records Angelo's 1763 original, 1765 bilingual reissue, and 1767 third edition within the same family. Vigeant 1882 confirms the 1763 issue as the original edition, notes that special large-paper copies were prepared for members of the English royal family, and repeats the tradition that the chevalier d'Eon helped in the composition of the treatise.
