Leguina 1891 records this apologetic destreza work under Juan Fernando Pizarro from a Trujillo 1623 witness and adds that Pacheco himself declared in the preliminaries to Engano y desengano that he had written it. The bibliographic tradition therefore preserves both the Pizarro attribution and a strong claim of Pacheco's underlying authorship.
