Major engraved German witness of the Italian-influenced thrust-fencing tradition, printed at Heidelberg in 1664. Gelli stresses the long-form title and the Italianate character of the doctrine. Vigeant 1882 adds the portrait by C. Metzger, the count of sixty-one copperplates, and remarks that although L'Ange adopts many principles then current in France, the attitudes in the engravings still recall the Italian school.
Final Vigeant duplicate sweep on 2026-08-11 folded the weaker authorless shell of L'Ange's 1664 Heidelberg treatise (work 361) into this canonical record.
