The former local 1828 date was contamination from the following theatrical item in Thimm. Gelli confirms that the fencing manual is the 1860 Paris French translation of Sieverbruck's 1852 Saint Petersburg original, with portrait and lithographic figures.

Vigeant 1882 emphasizes that the 1860 Paris Sieverbruck manual is the French translation of the Russian master's 1852 Saint Petersburg original.

The catalogue now represents the 1852 source edition and its 1860 Paris French translation as editions of one work family.
