The local 1877 date was a polluted carry-over from a later Robaglia line in the same Thimm cluster. Gelli and surviving bibliographic evidence restore the primary witness to Angouleme, 1821, with a same-family reprint in 1840.
Vigeant 1882 values Lhomandie's 1821 Xiphonomie for the exact, logical, and elegant verse presentation of fencing elements, while noting that the 1840 corrected and enlarged edition is technically fuller but loses the original's historical notes.
