Nuremberg swordsmith and fencing master, probably captain of the Marxbrüder in 1522–1523. His unfinished teachings were acquired and completed by Paulus Hector Mair after Rast’s death.
Author represented in Cod. Guelf. 1.6.3 Aug. 2º; authority added in quality phase 357. Quality phase 373 correction: KdiH identifies him as the Nuremberg swordsmith whose lost exemplar was acquired by Mair in 1552; he died in 1549.
