Nuremberg patrician, humanist, translator, civic councillor and correspondent of Albrecht Dürer. Willibald Pirckheimer compiled and copied the manuscript now called Pirckheimer’s Fechtbuch, transmitting fencing teachings by several earlier masters.
Nuremberg humanist identified as the scribe and compiler of Pirckh. Papp. 353; not treated as author of the transmitted fencing teachings.
Nuremberg museum and Germanisches Nationalmuseum authorities, together with the Pirckh. Papp. 353 manuscript analysis, reviewed in enrichment phase 567; scribe role preserved and the former lifespan-like floruit normalized.
