French fencing journalist, instructor, and prolific author on epee, sabre, duelling, street self-defence, cane, and related combat disciplines. He was one of the most visible popularizers of fin-de-siecle French martial culture and helped bridge formal fencing, duel practice, and practical urban self-defence literature.
Do not confuse this martial author with the better-known Art Nouveau architect Emile Andre (1871-1933). The fencing writer has a distinct BnF authority profile and a separate chronology.
