Mantuan humanist, poet and secretary in Roman cardinal households. He completed Dialogo dell’honore, a substantial treatment of honour and duelling, shortly before his early death; his brother Antonio published it posthumously in 1553.
Treccani distinguishes him from his nephew and supports 1520–1549. Later editions and Antonio Possevino additions are manifestations of the same work family. Enriched in quality phase 571.
