German fencing master trained in the Kreußler tradition. He taught at the universities of Göttingen and Helmstedt and published his influential Anfangsgründe der Fechtkunst in 1739.
Göttingen university records and biographical evidence support the dates 1713–1797. The title-page form Anthon is retained. Enriched and catalogue-heading shell removed in quality phase 570.
